The Gite - Gite Rental in France

Les Brissonnières
Gite Rural in France
Holiday on a working Alpaca farm

The Gite is part of the farm house which is typical of the Charentaise Longère style.  It was built in the late 19th century and, although renovated, it still retains some of the traditional features such as oak beams.

The farm, with its neighbour opposite, forms the hamlet of Les Brissonnières.  There is a track (or chemin) that goes down to the charming village of Le Breuil sous Argenton.

Le Breuil is a typical sleepy French village great for quiet walks but every so often comes alive through the numerous fetes (village celebrations), vide greniers (village boot sale or flea market) and National Holidays.  For the essentials, the larger village of Argenton Les Vallees is no more than a five minute drive away and has all the amenities such as banks, bars, restaurant, snack bar, pharmacy, supermarket, hairdressers, post office, bakery and a weekly market.

You can also find bigger shopping centres 15-20 minutes' drive away in each direction out of Argenton Les Vallees. Vegetables, fruit, eggs and other produce are available to buy from the farm, subject to seasonal variations and availabilty.
